GOVERNMENT SCHOOL IN RURAL AREA

I, Sakshi Kaushik, along with my batch mates of Manav Rachna Institute of Research and Studies visited a school in Panhera Khurd Village that's in the Balabgarh town in Faridabad district of Haryana. We interacted with the kids of that school and here I am going to share my experiences of that visit

Government School in Panhera Khurd Village

The school was co-ed and had classes up to 12th. There was a computer lab as well as plenty of classrooms. I along with some of my batch mates were given a chance to interact with the children of 6th standard. The children were quite bright and were having the basic general awareness about the world and their school.

A lovely bunch of students!
Though they were bright and sharp but I felt that they somehow lacked the ability to communicate in the universally accepted language, English. It's not that they could not speak it at all, but they were not comfortable speaking that language. I feel that it's quite necessary to provide them with the basic English classes for boosting up their confidence. This would in turn help them in having pace with the current corporate world.

Talent indeed!!!

We also performed a lot of activities with them and played games. They were really good at activities like antakshari, general knowledge quiz, games related to the recitation of poems and they had the mathematical tables not on their tips but on their lips! I and my batch mates were quite fascinated when children of 6th standard recited the tables of 18 and 19 with so much of fluency and confidence. They all are talented and happy children. Despite of the lack of some basic social facilities, they were not at all complaining in nature. They enjoyed in what they had and tried to use all the opportunities available to them to the fullest. They were eager to learn and gain knowledge. In fact, they urged on playing games related to GK quizzes.

Calligraphic Talents!

I was really impressed by their willing nature and overwhelming behaviour.
However, I felt the need of some things that were really necessary for the children studying in that school. There is a huge need for fans and lights in the classrooms. I also felt that the teachers should be a bit more inclined towards helping the students with their studies and homework, as these children are coming from far off places to get quality time of their teachers. Just a bit more of quality education and basic necessities could bring a huge change in their lives.

A Bundle of Joy...

We did learn a big lesson of never underestimating our existence and of never looking down on any of the resources provided to us, whether big or small. We should use each and everything to its fullest and should be having an attitude that is always open to learning and helping.

I would like to conclude by mentioning a few requirements that are really needed by the students of the school in Panhera Khurd Village. I feel that they require proper lights and fans that would facilitate them to study for longer time and they should also be given special classes for spoken English and English Grammar. Lastly, I believe that motivational sessions should be organised for these children, at least once in a month. This would not only encourage them to attend school regularly but would also help them to study more efficiently.

  1. Hi, Sakshi Bitiya. I gone through your above quote and felt happy knowing that our Bitiya is slowly slowly taking part in extra curricular activities. It will also inspire other students in coming out with their brilliant talent. Very good efforts and keep it going on with upgraded approaches. May Almighty bless you with all success ahead.
