What is Life???

Image
Hello everyone!!! In today's blog I have a poem for all of you. The poem is on the topic "LIFE". We are often so busy in living our lives, interacting with others, earning money and following our daily routines, that we never think about the precious gift that we have in the form of " LIFE ". So we need to take some time out from our so-called busy routines, in order to make our lives more systematic, interesting and lovable!!! WHAT IS LIFE??? Life is that swing which has a time period NOT known to us, that has plenty of thoughts about failures & little less of successes, it takes us very high sometimes, & throws us very down at other moments. It inculcates a feeling of euphoria at times, while at other moments it makes us feel terribly scared!!! The moments we live are like the writings of a pen, which can never be erased, but they do leave an impression on other pages  of the notebook. Its like a blank sheet

GUNAH...

Hello everyone!!! Today's blog is based on a very prevailing social issue, that is right there in front of all of us but the irony is that we are unable to recognise it! "According to a report by child rights NGO CRY, sexual offence is committed against a child in every 15 minutes!"

First Day of College...

Image
Hello everyone!!! So down there is a poem on "The first day to College".  It's for all those who have just begun with their college life or those who want to cherish their old memories of college life...                                                                     FIRST IMPRESSION   At 6 a.m. I woke up,  just to realise that the sun was up! Filled with the terror of missing the school bus, I created a hustle, just to realise that it was the time of a different bustle! My new life, waiting for me to dive! You have guessed it, Right? It was my college time! Choosing a dress became a big task, After all, we all had to put on that mask!!! Walking in heels, I entered the class, I was happy to see the mass, Ready for a new start,  I entered that mart! Who knew that my life would take a 360 degree turn, where everybody would be busy in their own Burn! "Burns", you must be amazed about? Its buzzing all around, making that weird s

What is the difference between Sympathy, Empathy and Compassion?

Image
Hello everyone!!! Once upon a time, there was a bunch of four friends , Raju, Kaju, Maju and Waju. They were in the 1st year of their college life. All of them were friends since class 10th and were really happy to get the same college. They all did a lot of parties, studies and enjoyed their lives thoroughly. They all were quite close to each other and each others families as well.                                       One fine day, they were in the college canteen to celebrate Raju's birthday, suddenly his phone rang. He went away from the crowd and took the call. It was the call of his mom. All the friends were waiting for him eagerly but then they saw something that made them tensed. They saw that Raju's phone was on the ground and he was crying badly! All three of them ran in his direction to investigate into the matter.                                        At first Raju couldn't speak anything. He was continuously crying and sobbing. Finally he uttered f

What is Institutionalisation?

Image
Hello everyone!!! Institutionalization  refers to the process of embedding some conception (for example a belief, norm, social role, particular value or mode of behaviour) within an organization, social system, or society as a whole.                                      This was a much scientific and  theoretical definition indeed! So let me explain you the actual meaning of institutionalization through the means of a story. After all, forgetting a story is quite rare! So sit back, grab a cup of coffee or tea and listen...                      Long time back there was a village where everyone lived happily and were just like family members. Their basic occupation was farming.                              Then came a middle aged man who started to live in the streets of this village. After 2-3 days the villagers started to notice him and asked him about his where about. He replied that he was a wanderer and now had no place to live so he came to their village.

Difference between Psychologist and Psychiatrist

Image
Hello everyone!!! Today I am going to address a question of utmost importance. The question is "Is there a difference between a Clinical Psychologist, Counsellor and Psychiatrist?"                               Psychology being an emerging field has aroused many questions and doubts amongst the local people. Many of us still do not have a complete idea of what psychologist do or what is the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist. Half of the population (of India) believes that psychologists are someone who deal with people whom they define as " pagal " or "stupid". I am really sad to use these words but most of us still use them to define those who need serious help and affection. I fail to understand the mindset of those people who devise and use such terms with such frankness and openness. Instead of providing help and support to them, we often tend to ignore them or stay away from them. It is very important to change the minds

KHICHDI...

Image
Hello everyone!!! Today I am going to talk about a very interesting topic! I am sure that most of you must have not thought about Khichdi in the manner that you would be thinking today... The concept that I am going to apply in today's blog is called "SOCIOLOGICAL IMAGINATION". Before bombarding you with the insights of Khichdi , let me brief you about what sociological imagination exactly is... The term " sociological imagination " was coined by the American sociologist C. Wright Mills  in 1959. He wished  to describe the type of insight offered by the discipline of Sociology. C. Wright Mills The  sociological imagination  is the ability to see things socially and how they interact and influence each other.  To cut it short, sociological imagination basically refers to the way of thinking in which we relate a given topic with the aspects of our culture or society. We choose a topic which appears to be quite common and general but wh

WHY DO WE DREAM?

Image
Hello everyone!!!  In today's blog we are going to discuss about the most thrilling topic of all. That is " Why do we Dream? "  First thing first, dreaming can be of two types: Day-Dreaming and Night-Dreaming. So let me explain you the difference between the two with the help of a few examples... Imagine that you along with your family members are watching a news channel on the television. Suddenly your mother snaps you by saying "Hey where are you lost? I am talking to you". At this moment you realize that you were actually dreaming of a brand new bicycle that you want and in your dream you were riding it and enjoying the ride.  This is an instance of Day-Dreaming! A man daydreaming... I am sure that all of you must have gone through the phase when you wake up in the morning and smile to yourself thinking that it was just a "dream"! Some of us also wake up at the middle of the night, say around 2 a.m. or  3 a.m. and a

GOVERNMENT SCHOOL IN RURAL AREA

Image
I, Sakshi Kaushik, along with my batch mates of Manav Rachna Institute of Research and Studies visited a school in Panhera Khurd Village that's in the Balabgarh town in Faridabad district of Haryana. We interacted with the kids of that school and here I am going to share my experiences of that visit Government School in Panhera Khurd Village   The school was co-ed and had classes up to 12th. There was a computer lab as well as plenty of classrooms. I along with some of my batch mates were given a chance to interact with the children of 6 th standard. The children were quite bright and were having the basic general awareness about the world and their school. A lovely bunch of students! Though they were bright and sharp but I felt that they somehow lacked the ability to communicate in the universally accepted language, English. It's not that they could not speak it at all, but they were not comfortable speaking that language. I feel that it's quite necessary
